Gerhart Drijvers

Originally a horn player, Gerhart Drijvers discovered a love of conducting. He holds several conducting qualifications: HaFa (1999); orchestra conducting with VU University Amsterdam's Symphony Orchestra, graduating cum laude; and a Masters in orchestra conducting with Das Philharmonisches Orchester (Hagen, Germany).

He regularly conducts the Royal Conservatoire's Athenaeum School Orchestra and was musical director of Productiehuis Alphen's Christmas production 'Scrooge and Marley'. In 2008 he was the only Dutch conductor to be selected for a masterclass by conductor Ilan Volkov with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

Gerhart is also expanding his choral direction work an in January 2010 conducted a well-received concert featuring talented young violinist Rosanne Philippens, winner of the Princess Christina Competition and the Oskar Back Violin Competition.
