Christof Brunner

Christof Brunner was born in Zurich in 1972. He studied violin with Brenton Langbein and Adelina Oprean, before training as a conductor and subsequently attending masterclasses with Kirk Trevor, Tsung Yeh and Larry Rachleff. Christof Brunner has conducted orchestras in the Czech Republic, and currently conducts several amateur orchestras in Switzerland. 

As a choral conductor he has directed performances of the Mozart and Verdi Requiems, various Masses, and Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. In 2003 Mr Brunner gave the first Swiss performance of the Misa Tango by Argentine composer Luis Bacalov. 

Christof Brunner has appeared in concerts at the Davos Festival for young artists. He composed the score for the children’s musical Ahoi for the Lucerne Festival.

Since 2007, Christof Brunner has been lecturer in orchestral conducting at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste.
